I know loads of people use F28 gearboxes with C20LET corsas but never heard of a F28 C20XE corsa and wondered why not? Im currently looking at replacing my gearbox and decided a 6th gear would be nice?

I always thought my Xe corsa needed a 6th gear. But I wonder the same, why has no one every done it

Probably as you need a box, a different clutch and a gearbox mount and to change the linkage to make it work. Weighs a fair bit more than an f20 and generally finding a proper "mint" f28 these days is hard work compared to millions of 5 speeds similar to an f20.

Ahh thanks. Itd be a shame to change the clutch/flywheel as its new. Ill prob just whack another f20 in it for now. Thanks.

You`ll need f28 gearbox mount for thr the passenger side,spacers for the tie bar chassis mounts,f28 clutch centre plate as the f28 gearbox has 14 splines and a f28 modified gearbox linkage.
The gearbox will need to be modified for fwd corsa if not already done,for cable speedo is f20 speedo ring and drive,2wd conversion plate for drivers side dif and tap the 3 holes out for the rear gearbox mount.
Don`t get an electric speedo drive f28 unless you have that type corsa and then you can use an abs ring and pulse converter from dom.
