Ash will. He'll tell you it's no such thing and will be down to a number of factors.
Have you tried resetting the phone?

Is it no 3G or no data at all? I had to change my settings to the Giffgaff ones for example as it had defaulted back to O2.

My default wap settings haven't worked on my 4S since iOS7 (O2).
Changed it to mobile.o2.co.uk and it works.

Isn't that exactly what Dom and Steve were telling me when I had the same problem with my S3.

As part of the update it sometimes asks if you want to update the network settings, doing so sometime results in them being updated to the default network ones rather than the right ones for your sim.
Edit, that said this would result in no mobile internet at all, can you navigate to Google?

You apparently had a lot of 'issues' with it, 'issues' that no one else could replicate, and it was recommended a few times that you return it for replacement as it sounded faulty although this advice seemed to have fallen upon deaf ears.
fred7 - Check access point settings against your network; otherwise try a factory/hard reset.

I did take it for a replacement, was left without a phone for 3 weeks, only for it to be exacty the same.

Reading the comments, I'm not sure how people manage to get an update so wrong. Everyone I know has updated fine with zero issues.
No internet at all when the network is fine 100% sounds like APN settings.

Do a factory reset, start a-fresh, and see where that gets you.
Although it sounds like a software glitch if you're getting 3G signal in some areas and not it areas you previously had it. Worse case, get Apple to replace it.

My mate went to Apple at the weekend hoping to blag them for a replacement due to non-existant dropped calls and crashes (he does it every year to get a fresh one to sell on). Apparently now they do some code thing which they put into the system and it gives them access to all the crash logs, dropped calls and other low level data for the life of the phone. Needless to say, he didn't walk away with a replacement.
