Every room at my parents is artexed, pretty sure the bathroom is that exact pattern too!

Very smart. We have artexed ceilings too. Whoever thought of that idea needs shooting.

It doesn't look possible to open drawer fully and stand in front of it. En suite looks good

Wouldn't go for a wood floor personally.
Unless it's heated. And then it'd be a hard decision.

Carpet is awful. Wood flooring is much easier to live with.

Nothing to do with that.
My work boots left black marks on my socks which transferred to my off white carpet in my bedroom. Not even a rug doctor has managed to get it out.
If you like stains, go for it.
I personally prefer the glossy look of a clean wood floor. I own socks so wouldn't know whether it was cold or not.

I don't sleep on the floor so wouldn't know.
Had wood floor in my bedroom in my parents house and never had an issue.

Bit strange you think everyone who has carpets has stains on them

I do agree proper wood floors like look nicer. But not in a bedroom

I don't think that at all, rather that if you do end up with a stain, it can be a lot more costly and time consuming to remove than simply wiping your wood floor.
Personal preference I guess.
We currently have carpets in the living room and 1 bedroom but will be getting ripped up soon.
