Pain the fucking arse, annoying the hell outta me.

what can i do to stop this infernal squeak every time i put the clutch down ?!

yeah, i do, but with other ppl in the car they get pissed off when i can't hear them moaning about my driving

dont think u can fix it, other than gettin a new spring i dont really know.

My parents old 1994 cav 1.7td used to do this, and yeah its VERY annoying

every vauxhall does it!

just spray wd-40 on it and keep stereo ul loud.

Try oil on the spring not the carpet and try a spot of grease i did this in my nova worked a treat. Also put grease on the other end of the cable on the gear box Lee

Is the spring inside the car then? then as mine does this all the time aswell. I had the cable replaced a while ago and that cured it for about 3 days then it came straight back LOL

yeah as far as i know the spring attaches onto the pedal itself, hav a look behnid the pedal u should c it.

yeah grease on the spring should work

i had this problem so i just sprayed loads of wd40 at the back of and around the clutch pedal and it sorted the problem but the car stank of wd40 for next couple of days but was all worth it to stop the bloody squeak

mine didnt squeak so much as sound like a cat being stepped on, kind of a muted "meow" noise. i thought it was my girlfriend in the passenger seat doing it at first to piss me off til i realised it was my clutch pedal...

Mine started to squeak loads a few weeks back i just oiled the spring on the pedal, depressed and pressed it a number of times to distribute the oil and all has been fine since!
