im thinking about it (depending on how much work and money is involved.
Ive got a 1.4sri 8v and thinking about putting a 2L lump in it.
Would all i need to buy is the:
-Engine
-A Transplant kit from PVD?
and then take all that along to my local garage and let them do the work?
and what sort of engine would be recomended?
im not sure about price but if it aint that bad i wouldn't mind going for it.

A GSi off the clock??? Only if he'shad extensive engine work done to it. They have 140mph clocks
Cheap, simple, double the power for bugger all cost conversion U aint gonna get +70bhp for £1500 out of your current engine, and it would be pushed to its limits like that anyway and still not be as fast

i disagree about being pushed to the limits. The 1.6 engines are good for 220bhp, as long as everything is uprated that needs it.

Your telling me??? Actually, the 1.6 units are good for around 240bhp and 160lb ft of torque when fully tuned.
And yes, Lee Mannings/Then Rentons/Now Daveys Corsa is the only GSi i know of to go off the clocks with a 1.6 engine. Even Andy Hamiltons got to 135mph in 1.5 miles, prob could go over 140, but thats 214bhp and 145lb ft.
And he hasn't got a 1.6 16v, he has a 1.4 8v Read the post laddie
