Along with my tyres my brakes have come to the point where they need changing.

I have a 1.2 8v 1997 post face lift Corsa. I have 15" TSW's so I have the space to fit the brakes in.

What I am planning on doing is getting the calipers from down a scrappy and then putting some decent disks and pads on at the same time as putting the calipers on. Do I need anything really apart from disks, pads and calipers?? I am quite sure the 2.0 16V setup of brakes fits to the same hub as I have, so I think I just need pads, disks and calipers but I want to make sure before I spunk all my spare cash on them.

Cheers,
Sean.

You may also need to space the caliper out slightly.

Bolt off, bolt new ones on! Doddle! Uses same bolts, buy new washers for the brake pipe unions as they only cost pennies. Best £50 I've spent yet!

the only prob is the car at the scrappy may have been sat for ages and the calipers could be seized, probably worth getting a new seal kit.

Piccie here

Basically jack car up/take wheel off, clamp brake line, undo old calipers with I think is a 10mm allen bolt top and bottom, undo brake hose, pull of caliper, unscrew disk, pop that off, give hub face a clean, grease and the reverse for the new ones, bleeding etc

I also renewed the caliper to hub bolts, pads (have to reallt) disks were practically brand new, renewed the copper washers, bleed nipples and the sliders.

They have a rolling road (powered at the MOT) and get you to test the brakes (I was still on car - its a Council MOT place, the car popped off the road, mustve pressed too hard
