At this moment in time the setup is:-

Pi 30% uprated shocks
GMax -60mm springs
Running standard bump stops on the front.

The ride is as bumpy as hell, the handling is amazing but I cant cope with how damn bumpy it is at this moment. It bangs over holes and stuff, basically getting to the point where I hate going down certain roads.

So what do I do??

I think I need coilovers to get a decent ride on 60mm drop, but it may be that I just need better springs and dampers.

What do you think, if its just better springs and dampers needed then that alright because I can buy them seperatly and sort the problem out over time.

Get some adjustable dampers and set them to the kind or ride you like

Well I would say it is bumpy, it bangs like hell, not pleasent to be in really unless your nailing it round corners.

Puts the women off the car when its so bumpy.

Can anyone recommend a good setup for a 60mm drop that gives a decent ride without all the banging.

Problem being Eibach dont do 60mm lowering springs.

I was thinking of going for swapping the springs for Spax SSX springs found here http://www.larkspeed.com/pages/productpages/sus_spax_ssx.html to drop it 60mm still but on my Pi shocks, and then getting Spax shocks as found here http://www.larkspeed.com/pages/productpages/sus_spax_shock.html.

Do you think that will sort my problem??

If it bangs then the bumpstops ARENT doing their job properly. Coilovers will give a MUCH better ride at 60mm, as you know I have spax RSX now, drop me a u2u and we can meet up, i'll take you for a spin if you like and you can properly experience it...

I bought new springs and shocks and it is still bumpy as hell, really bumpy! and thats only cos the suspension is so stiff.
The springs of a 60mm drop will be stiffer than springs of a 40mm drop.
ive just put 17's on and i have a bit of rubbage at the back, im thinkin of changing it to a 50mm drop instead of 60

spax springs are stiffer than gmax, your problem is the shocks not the springs fella, i recommend getting koni yellow shocks, then you can have them on soft or hard and they give excellent road holding even on soft.

its already rubbing like a whore on the back (17's on), and the arches cant be modded any more.

referring to both of you really.

i have 17's lowered 60mm and i never get rubbing even 5 up, plus ive got a 5 dr which has smaller rear archs, you will find your wheels are rubbing on the inner arch which is why you dont think you can mod it anymore, but you can cos i have and it works, basically you need to use slightly longer bumpstops in the rear shocks. this limits the travel hence the wheels dont touch, plus it still sits at the same ride height, and the back sticks to the road like glue

so where can i get bigger bump stops from then?

i cant even get more than 2 up in the car! (inc me) which is pish.

But then about a year ago novagte went up the back of me.. and i think ever so slightly twisted my back end.. it only rubs on 1 side (the side he hit me).

got mine from demon tweeks the code for them is bs004 made my powerflex, think they were 12 quid plus p and p

when u get them they are too long so u have too shortern them with a hacksaw etc..

icy the fk suspension kits are well good, excellent ride and very good handling.

Althought the 40mm drop is about 50 at the front and 40 on the rear (and no i didnt get the wrong kit, theres sum1 else on hear thats had the same problem)

Gonna have to shop around now for them Koni Yellow adjustables.

Really do hope they sort my problem, cant have me women being put of by the stupidly bumpy ride, well its not really the bumpyness its the banging I get more than owt.
