i tired all the companies in the back of max power when i was insuring my 306 gti and they gave me the best quotes compared to the bigger companies, also adrian flux gives good rates on modded motors...do not go to planet insurance though...they are crap!

...plus it will beat the pants off a clio 172

200bhp sounds more reasonable. There has been a 300bhp 2.0 turbo corsa (silver L Plate, previously a GSI engine), which was done in 2000, but he spent over well over £10,000.

CIS quoted me £570, Flux quoted me £600 on my 1.2
You've got no no-claims so dont expect anything under a grand for a 2.0l Turbo.
I doubt you'll get over 300bhp either!

If they're just chucking in a standard LET, it will be about 204bhp, as broster said.

maybe its just me and I am being a bit too sensible, but how about checking for the insurance BEFORE paying for the conversion!!, would be funny as feck if you spent the money and then couldnt insure it, and that is a very good possibility, also no way is it over 300 bhp if the conversion is £3500, would take that sort of money just to get a reliable engine of that power, but even for fitting a standard LET this sounds quite good, check and make sure what brakes they are fitting, front suspension, and are they welding the bay?
with you being 22, if you go for a quote on your own insurance, bet you cant get it for less than £1500, or around £2000 for FC.
I am 27 and my 2L was £575, tpf+t. thats garaged with cat 1 security, full engineers report and maximum no claims.
check it first, as if you get the work done and then cant insure it, you will have just lost a very large amount of money!!

Its possible to get 315bhp from that engine, without major internal work, but I think it won't last long
There's a guy in Portugal doing this conversion and he bought the all lot to Matjissen Thecnics in Holland, and he is a member of this forum, so if you want more details ask him.
Its completely illegal in Portugal but if you pass the mot without seeing it, you won't pay more for insurance

well you may laugh folks but this is what i have been told i thought it sounded alot butthey are the experts ...not me
i am yet to finalise everything with them so i will ask them for the exact details of what they do when i go tomorrow
....but i am sure they mentioned that they did a 324 bhp kit and a 4?? bhp kit that they get from germany, but i will ask them tomorrow and tell you exactly what i am getting and what the exacet bhp will be as i aint spendin that kinda of money with them if they have lied to me already
...ill keep you updated

that is a wallace phase 4 kit to bring it up to 324bhp or so i would believe and if you are getting all that for £3500 you are robbing them plain and simple!!! !!!

Cossvaux wont supply the enigne running that kind of power for £3500!!
It will be a standard engine running 204bhp.
324bhp is very obtainable in the C20LET, ariund 400bhp with the phase 5 kits being tested.
Still, 300bhp wont cost you £10k, more like £3k (plus engine conversion costs).
As for insurance, well, if your worrying about that, then i wouldn't even bother doign the conversion!!!

sonds like it will be really good when its done mate Have a butchers on www.its4me.co.uk , it will prolly be expensive, but my insurance through them is cheap so
Although i doubt that you will be getting 324 bhp from it, especially for that price although if you have 13 odd grand, a bloke in holland will get 315bhp out of a corsa (new engine, turbos etc) and it will easierly do 170mph odd - this was in total vauxhall a few months ago
