Sorry to start another thread about Turbo's! My mate has offered me the turbo from his 1.8 Golf GTi, as he is having a bigger hybrid fitted. He's offered me it for 50 squid which I know is damn cheap. But I'm wondering if it is worth it. I know I will need an Intercooler- but what else will I need? Will I need it chipped? How much am I gonna be looking @?
I expect its not really worth the hassle and expense- but as I can get the turbo so cheap I thought I may as well look in2 it.
How much are throttle bodies as an alternative?
Has anyone else Turbo'd a 1.4 Sport?

3. intercooler
4. uprated internals

Put a turbo on mine was all done on the driveway, lasted a week before the bores decided to become oval shaped!

Speak to Matt4C - he's squeezed 135bhp out of his 1.4 and it includes a gas-flowed head
