Hi all,
Just a quicky about the tweeter. The tweeter driver is ina flat surface mount case, however, you have to take this off so you can put a bolt through it etc etc However, i cant get my driver out of the surface mount Your suppose to turn it anti-clockwise to release it, which it does, but the driver dont wanna fall out
Anyone got any ideas? Im crapping my self that if i press too hard that im gonna fuck the things up
I'll try and post a pic of how its mounted

Dom

EDIT:
Here are the images:

(Instructions for this surface mount)

I have these speakers in my Corsa C. I couldn't get them out either so I left them in and hot glued them behind the tweeter casing.

Try warming the casing up with a hair dryer... and give it another push...

don't use a screwdriver you could damage the unit... use some thing with a flat surface like the end of a pencil... nothing sharp..

May help...

Also try making a small hole about the size of a pencil, near to the edge of the tweeter... give it a push there, this will use less force to push the tweeter out of the casing, rather than pushing from the middle where there is more friction...

cheers all
i just tried the hair dryer and warmed up the casing of one of them til i couldnt touch it (it was bloody hot) that tried to give it a push. Tried it 3 more times and it doesnt want to budge Cheers diggidy, i did use a blunt pencil and tried to push it with that but didnt work either.

I might just take em to halfords or sumthing and get them to fit them PROPERLY. That way if anything does go wrong with them, they have to pay for new ones. Although hot clue gun seems like a good idea. Take it there a good fit? Also, how do u go about removing them when uve hot clued them in? does the clue just peel off?

Just out of interest... are you trying to turn the driver anti-clockwise?? or just the casing itself..?

the casing should be in 2 piece's...

the driver is then put between them and then locked together by twisting clockwise...

???

...you what ?! lol
Im gonna go take some piccy's of one of them and let you tell me what i should be twisting lol

But yea, im twisting the driver anti-clockwise since it does something, unlike twisting the housing which does fek all

Ok... try this, hold the rim of the tweeter firmly and grip the bottom of the case and try twisting... this should unlock the casing..

I'm almost 99% sure...

...twist the case anti clockwise, nout happens Twist it clockwise and it seems to unlock and the actualy driver inside is moving about, just not the grill bit. If i twist it more it seems to lock again.

top rim??
There isnt one....the case is all in one moulded bit of plastic, except the grill in the middle (which has a 1mm surround of pastic around it).

lol fuck this for giggles...i think an international phone call to phoenix gold might solve somethings

Ummm... ???

Ok.. try twisting it again untill the drive moves about, ture it upside down, driver facing the floor and shake it about... if the driver is loose it should fall out the housing...

Sounds like these were designed by NASA.. you need a degree in partical physics to use the dam things..

HAHAHA mate im telling you, there bloody fool proof. Aint no pikey getting these outta me car (thats if i get them in correctly lol).

Yea, the driver is loose. You you wiggle the wires the metal bit (back of tweeter) moves and if you look through the front u can see the blue cone move. But that bloody grill doesnt wanna move

Do you think i can send them back to caraudiodirect.com and get them to send me another lot out? This must be a dodgy batch or sumthing

when you mean popping the grill out, you mean hold each side and apply pressure to the middle (at the back)?
