The SPi engines are for economy, not at all tuneable.

i had a hi-torque also for two years, and all i done was stick a set of 15's on it, lower it, back box & lexmaul grille
drove it for two years, put it back to standard then got rid of it

yes 16's are a very bad idea
the car is only good in & around town, anything out on the open road and you get slaughtered

If you think it shifts you need to drive some other cars! Yes itll be the SPi the 8v MPi engines were only found in early Corsas.
Ecu remapped?

if you havent bought the car yet, why not go for the 1.4 8v MPI instead? I got that engine in a 93 SRi with s/s induction kit, straight through exhaust, and 270 degree lift fast road cams. Still need more power though!

FPMSL. Thats a whole load of bullshit. You really need to drive another car if you think yours is nippy.

didnt say it was for an astra... what im sayin is he's overwritten the astra software so it dont get bunged in just n e old corsa. i aint sayin its the quickest car in the world guys but im happy with it as a first car. and it aint a whole load of bullshit how wud u knw what m,y mate thought??? (btw not my dad... gf's dad.)
A standard ecu isnt prgrammed to its optimal by defualt. all he's dun is remapped it to the best it can be, like i sed runs smoother specially at top end. if all a can do is critisie(spelling) y bother postin???

Tech 2 or what ever it is yeah??
Ican change the parameters of the ecu maps slightly.
Even though it's probably not that nippy, but good for a first car. Wait to get a different engine, 16V engine are good for an upgrade and can be tuned pretty easily for good results will fairly low cost.

The inlet manfold setup and air intake are weak links mon most Corsa's, would start there on any tuning plan if you have to.
As for driving a faster car to stop yourself thinking a 60 bhp Corssais nippy, why not drive something really slow, to make your Corsa feel f***kin quick instead.
Like a Diesel Nissan Serena or a 2CV then your car will feel like a rocket ship and you won't need to tune it to stay happy.
