You need to fit the solinoid to the inner skin of the boot so that when it pops it pushes downwards. You should have a linkage bar that connects the solinoid to the lock. This fits into the lever on the left hand side of the locking mechanism that operates the latch. The way to see if you have found the righ bit is by colsing the lock with your finger and then pushing on the lever to see if it opens, aint hard to miss though.
You want to wire the solinoid to a permenant live and I think you can ground it at the boot, but some people disagree so you might want to run a ground wire to a suitable point. If you can get hold of one then do the following... You might be able to find a small spring type mechanism that pushes the boot lid open - if you find one fit one of those into the boot lid so that when the solinoid pops the boot is pushed open, you can use a push button to operate the solinoid. Otherwise you'll need to use a switch, which you need to turn on, open the boot then turn off.... Hard to explain with no pics though
