I have noticed a smell of petrol around my car when I have stepped out on to my drive last week, so I jacked it up at the weekend and had a look underneath to find that the fuel tank is looking abit rusty and could do with replacing. So, I phoned up vauxhall and they quoted me 394.00+VAT for the tank and 114+VAT for the labour.
Im looking at over 500 notes for a new tank
Anyone know of any sites with cheap parts etc .... OR got any good alternatives ?. Im not sure about going to a scrappy as it might just happen again depending on the age of the donor car.

If you have any good motor factors nearby they should be able to sort you out with a tank, i got one cost me about 90 quid (but i got a discount coz i work there). You may need to modify a breather pipe inside the tank with an aftermarket one (think they cant b identical to original parts, like quite a few things!) but its a 30 second job anyway
As for fitting it, a haynes manual has how 2 change a tank (jus dont 4get some hedex 4 the headache after a few hours of strong petrol fumes lol)
Let me know if ya need any help mate, can fetch you a part number for a particular make so u kno wot 2 ask 4

Cheapest I've found is 62 quid plus the VAT from a place called Whiston Motor Factors. They are on 0151 430 0211 but I don't think they post you'll have to check.
