i've checked the tracking at work today, and its all fine

makes sense, we undid the lower arms to get the shafts out of the box, could they be loose? would that cause the symptoms?

my corsa did this but cured itsself sure was ball joint though, rob when u let go of steering wheel does it pull quite badly one way enough to make u grab back on.........
torque steer is common on xe so u have to ignore it specially in wet lol

did you say you've had a look at bottom ball joints?
my track rod end was knackered, but it only had a little bit of movement in it.

no, didnt look at the ball joints, we undid them and did them back up so this could well be the cause of the problem
i'll just go round everything connected to the steering wheel, directly or indirectly and double check the tightness of the bolts etc

does it handle shit ? make sure you tightened everything back up... i'd change the balljoints and trackrod ends to eliminate them...
hope to god you dont have problems like i have.... 2 suspension setups polybushes, wheel barings, top mounts, different wheels... car still handles like a bag of shit

My Nova done this, found that there was a bolt missing from the anti roll bar where it mounts to the cross member.

Sounds like sloppy tie bar bushes. You got the old or new style bushes?

mine did this after the conversion, i found the bolts through the bottom arm/antiroll bar etc were loose (even though i was sure id tightened them up. they even felt tight, but i needed a couple of washers in there as the thread was knackered
