Ive just been given my mums old pc, but i want to delete everything off it and restart from scratch, wouldnt mind deleting the o\s aswell. Whats the best way to do it??

i got a question too

160gb primary 200gb slave
want the 160 for 2nd slave and use old 30gb for primary, i have to format the 160 before i can use as a slave eh??

You dont need to format the 160 if u want to set it up for a slave no.

The OS will boot from the primary hard drive, and you will be able to access the information on the 2nd slave as you would the first slave.

easy peasy icy..

Rob, Easiest way is to stick in the windows cd and boot from CD, run the installer, format C, and do a quick NTFS install

That will rewrite the os and clear the hard drive as well that is the simplest way assuming u have the disks etc

It might be worth sticking the windows CD in when in windows and exploring the options there, you maybe able to rewrite the operating system and have the files under her documents deleted, but keep the programs

Once the 160 drive is a slave u can just delete the windows folder

push F2 or something before windows loads up (the black screen) and you get the configuration options. you can do whatever from there
