i hate all them benchmarking programs, yeah they're good for seeing how your card compares to others but you can get really fixated by them and it starts to piss you off when someone with the same rig as you gets more 3dmarks

I used to do loads of benchmarking, in fact, more so than i played games. Now, as long as I can play the latest games with a decent settings I'm happy.

I'm quite surprised how good Battlefield 2 looks on my ageing ATI 9800 Pro

I got myself a Geforce 6800 TD9999 from ASUS for xmas. Plays Doom3, Half-Life 2, Coutner Strike, Movies all in top res at 1024x768 or 1268x1024 or whatever it is with no problems with 4xAA on.

Cost me £100, plus £20 for a Zalman VF700 to cool it and quieten it - its wicked for the money and will keep me going for another year.

Its my 4th Geforce card now - I like the name.

there would be little or no point overclocking your system Gav.

What Ram do you have?

What graphics card do you have? It might be worth overclocking this slightly instead of the 1800

to be honest mate I wouldn't bother overclocking that. Like i said before, any gains to be had would be very minimal and you would probably not even notice in game.

I would look at maybe sticking another 512mb of ram in there making a gig in total. And may investing in an Nvidia 6800 or something similar.

although im going for SLi i think i have heard read that crossfire setup will eventually be more superior to SLi
