Going to pick up a new tower in the next few days but want to run both computers on internet.. Both towers are going to be next to each other could i run a cable to both towers to get the internet?

Possibly although router will mean that you don't need both computers switched on.

router would be far easiest and quickest.
these days routers are very cheap too

I used to use a Linksys when my missus was here, never had any problems with it - not like the D-Link router before it which was wank.
