Does anyone have any idea where a corsa sports speed signal comes from? The gearbox i have in my one has not got a speed cable and it does not have abs either. To my mind i have no idea how it can get a speed signal?

It comes out of the Gearbox... Have never heard of it coming out from anywhere else...
Sports will have an electronic speedo which slots into the top of the gearbox, hence no cable,

I have never found any corsa that gets its speed signal from the abs. they have all been either cable and vss signals or gearbox type senders.
I did try to take a speed signal from an abs unit once but its a completely different signal, tested it on an oscilloscope.

Ok i must have been looking around the wrong sort of area. Guess it does not come from the same area as standard speedo cable area?

the sport box i had didnt have any speedo drive into the gearbox, infact it was blanked off
i was told it comes from the abs sensor electric speedos

Mine does not have ABS.

My 1.2 has an electronic speedo. There is a plug that connects to a sensor on the top of the gearbox. I would assume that the gearboxes are of similar design as it's a facelift and shares a lot of the sport stuff. I'll take a pic when the crane moves thats parked on top of my car

Just been out looking at the gearbox and the only place i can see to add a wire is for the reverse light switch so i have no idea at all.

Thats the only way i can see it working. Chip on mig removed one from his corsa and he also never removed any speedo drive or cable.

the gearbox in my old shell?
that came with the engine i got from a lad on MIG, i'll try to remember his name, its James something
i think it was from an astra.
apparently, what you need to do, is drill out the blanking plug, and change the speedo drive gear in the box
i forgot about that :S

matt c's old corsa ran off the abs ring. not sure if he had abs but thats were it ran from. thats the old box that jr had

Thanks i was looking at it thinking how the hell does it get a speedo signal as i cound not see any what possible for it to get one.
