Corsa 1.6 - x16xe.

Basically the car has cut out a couple of times today

Coming up to lights/junctions and it dies. Starts back up straight away though , any ideas ?

Mine does the same but when u pull off it doesnt stop it jst coughs its guts up the by keeping your foot down it will pick its self back up

Not Sure bout the 1.6 but mine the 1.2 (16v) does not have leads its just a rectangle thing that pulls off the top of the plugs

When i was having a similar problem i was told to check the lambda sensor but mine is an 8v

EscortGTI, have you blank off your EGR or should it still be working?

Simmo sounds like it may be the Idle Air control at fault, has the management light been on at all?

ahh right ive changed that aswell and changed the mass air flow meter i havent a clue what else it could be

light has been on but for the lambda sensor since i had that changed has not been on since

My 16v and 8v both did this. It was the ICV both times.

i replaced ICV to no avail...did paperclip test and it told me air flow meter was at fault, so I took it off and cleaned it, and it halfed the amount of times I kept cutting out,soooo Im considering buying a new one!

simmo on the x12xe engine the mass air flow meter is commen but on the idle stepper motor the wiring was designed incorrectly (too short) causing poor conections so vauxhall sell an extension piece which will basically extend the wiring to the stepper motor an hopefully make it run better!

also to escort gti if your speedo cable has snapped (your speedo) dont work that would cause that fault on your car

mine did this a little while ago after i fitted the mantzel.........
i conected the map sensor to the servo pipe...witha 1 way valve.. oooops
