when i try to turn it on it says "A disc read error occured" "press ctrl to restart"
help me . theres stuff on this laptop that i really need off it.
can anyone help me out. cheers

i dont know , are you saying it will work if i plug a portable hard drive in?
i dont know the first thing about pcs

you should be able to take the hdd out of the laptop and plug it into the caddy. You then plug it in via usb and you can view the data

exactly what the error says mate, a fault with the hard disk.
Do you still have the laptop recovery disks? You could try and repair windows that way.

Try and get into the bios and see if your hard disk is still being recognised

i'm not too sure to be honest with you. See what model number it is and then type it into google or even ebay
|
