my car failed its mot on the emissions co on fast idle was 0.70 what could be the cause its had new plugs, leads and head rebuild . also the idle is a bit lumpy feels like small misfire. anyone any ideas. its a 1.6 sport

Put the standard airbox back on it. Check the exhaust for leaks and seal it up. The other thing is the lambda sensor, this can make the emissions high. Mine was high for my MOT. I took did the above, and then took it for a good thrashing on the way to the MOT re-test.

cat. had the same on mine couple of weeks ago. tried replacing all of the above mentioned, but cat did the trick. was only £50 anyway
