Every now and again under heavy braking the car pulls to the right
But then again in a similar situation under heavy braking, it doesnt pull.
Doesnt pull under light braking either.

Any ideas what this could be caused by? Anything i should check?

Thanks

Its probably just because you have your wider wheels on now and stuff. The only thing that might be wrong is a caliper sticking a little, but I reckon its probably just the wider wheels.

Had these on a while now and other than needing to re-bleed them i like them. Just the fact that they squeek and squeal like mad from the start of the drive....then when warmed up they arent as noisy but they still squeel like a bitch

Other than that, the pulling to the right is getting quite erm, daft now

I cant say i have had a look at my brakes with the wheels off to see if there is any clear problem as ive not been at home, but if i were to do it next week, is there anything that could cause squealing or pulling to the right ?

Thanks for any help.

Marcy Marc.

Did you put copper grease on the back of the pads? That should stop the squeaking.

Pulling to the right is strange. Have you had your tracking done lately?

squeaking and pulling could be related. the pads could be getting stuck on the sliders/pad carrier. make sure theyre copper greased up and file them a touch makeing sure they move freely

Thanks for replies.

I never copper greased them up at all....
I guess that could be the problem. Maybe i should do that.

Tracking was done when i had my new alloys put on, so yeah about 3 months ago?

NEVER put any lubriacants on the back of a pad! the only place they need any grease is on the lips of the pads where they slide on the carrier and calliper and on the 3 pronged spring that clips the pad into the piston. Most manufacturers now coat the back of the pads with a special type of paint or a layer of material that stops the pad binding onto the carrier or piston.

If the back of the pad is causing a problem apply a tiny smear of grease onto the inside of the calliper where the pad will sit against, but I mean a tiny amount.

The squealing is usually caused by the 3 metal prongs vibrating in the caliper piston.

The other causes of squealing is brake dust sitting on the disc and not being cleaned off under braking, this can be caused by pads that have overheated. Pads that have been contaminated with grease can also squeal.

did you make sure no grease got onto the face of the pads? (even a tiny amout will ruin the coimpound) and did you clean the discs off with brake cleaner after (as I noticed you didnt have gloves on)
