im looking to painting the inlet branch (thats wot i think it is! ) on my x16xe as its just discoloured over time. now they get hot obviously so would i ideally need to use heat resistant paint? how would i need to prep them? also how hard are they to remove and what would i need to do to remove it safely? any help appreciated cheers

take the plastic cover off and theres a few bolts under there and then 5 holding it to the lower inlet near the bulkhead. couple of vacuum pipes and a jubilee clip holding it to the tb and thats it really. use some high temp paint. wire brush is probably the best thing to clean it up before painting

Hammerite will do it.
Degrease it first with some engine cleaner or something.

Just use normal spray paint, worked fine on mine.
The top section of the inlet doesn't actually get that hot, just warm.
The inducted air must cool it as it flows through it....
