Backwards Compatibility.
Not worth the extra cost IMO.

True, but not worth holding out for if you can't get one but can get the 40GB. Just get a PS2 for £50.

Couple of extra USB ports, nothing worth much, except the 20gb TBH. I wanted the PS2 playback, but probably would have gone for 40 otherwise....

Pretty much all the 'normal' games are playable, some with minor issues. Pick something obscure and it might not work, but there is a list up on the Sony site of all the games playable, 90% of stuff is on there.

Not the latest, but Game or Gamestation usually have the best online, check their sites.

40gb
Doesn't have built in Wi-Fi!
Doesn't play PS1 or PS2 games!
Doesn't have the memory card and usb ports!
If you can find a 60gb get it IMO!

John.... Wi-Fi just means its wireless enabled instead of having to use a network wire to get it online.
All the specs on websites I've been looking at say 40gb doesn't have Wi-Fi as my gf's brothers after one!
If thats the case, might aswell get the 40gb!
