what are the benefits of a better one?

Im currently running a 256mb radeon x600 with dvi into 22" dell monitor

well depends what game it is and whether or not thats the only game you want to play?

I have upgraded in the past when a new wave of games as been released, HL2 and then bioshock. Now if i ever get round to upgrading the gfx card again it will be for directx10 (only have atix1900xtx dx9 card).

if you were going to upgrade i would wait half a year for newer and better dx10 cards to arrive plus they will be cheaper also

no real benefits unless you cant run games just now on full settings
