Im due to finish my degree this year.
just wondering about job paths that would be open to me with a Business Information Technology BSc degree?
The idea of working for a big phone company like vodaphone sounds interesting but I dont know what sort of jobs would be availible to me?
Just posting this incase there are any career paths that I havnt thought about yet?

Banking/finance sector?
Are you looking to stay more on the business or technology side?

I would be looking for something towards management role that interfaces between the IT side of things and the Business side of things. If that makes sense?
Finance IT sector sounds interesting. What sort of positions would there be?

You just described a business analyst.
They are required in all sectors.

Just been looking into business analyst roles...
Very intersting! But I fear that it would be hard to just walk into a job like that without training.
Looking around this job seems to be perfect:

But it talks about experience. How would I go about getting such experience? Would consultancy firms take on graduates to train them?

Yeah that role is looking for a more senior BA.
Have you looked at graduate schemes?
Where are abouts do you want to be located? If it's London then you're laughing. All the top investment banks have good grad schemes, for consultancy you could look at CapGemini, Accenture and Logica.
What are you on course to get in your degree? You will need at least a 2:1 to get on a decent grad scheme.
Did you do a placement year?

Im on course for a 2:1 but may end up with a 2:2.
I want to be located in Chester ideally. Although I would consider Manchester, Liverpool and surrounding areas.
Would this sort of position be more suited to the accountancy world?

Not at all, all medium to large companies need business analysts. It's a good area to get into - can progress into project management etc..
