Car is X16XE with
mantzle style inlet, bmc cda, de cat, superchip ecu with 7200 limit.
would the gain from a janspeed 4-2-1 manifold be noticeable? how many horseys will it free up?
also how much does it change the sound, love mine atm. Dont want it rasping?
i know ill definately be getting one as it is in my plans, but just wondering if it is worth spending now and getting one!
cheers

i got one on my x16xe, its got a full system and a decat. sound didnt really change- a little more raspier higher up the revs but not really noticable and the rear of my car is stripped so I would notice.lol. I think it made my car pick up quicker in 4th but havent dyno'd it yet so duno about bhp.

I had one fitted to my 1.6.
Didn't change the sound. Car picked up better in lower revs, and felt a little bit more torquey.
Plus they are a good design.

how low do they actually sit?, because ive heard some manifolds sit very near to the ground and are a bad design.
(sorry vague question)

I know there design is very good and they sit no lower than a standard manifold so you dont have any problems with it hitting the floor.
just trying to find if the gains will be noticeable? is it worth spending some money that i dont rellly have to spend in order to get one

I can do a full stainless 4-2-1 for less than the RRP of a mild steel janspeed

Stainless will be more respy though would it not.
I fitted a janspeed to mine, cant tell you the exact gains as i fitted a mantzel at the same time
But it now is alot more responsive lower down the revs and feels more torquey. Put your put down in 4th at 30-40ish and it will pull quite nicely compared to how it used too. I assume this is down to the janspeed rather then the mantzel.
Sound isnt that much different and it sit no lower then standard one. Im down 60mm on 14" gsi wheels and have no problems, Sump catches before manifold

If you use some decent exhaust wrap then it can act as a bit of a damper which will hopefully get rid of some or all of the rasp.
