my x16xe is struggling to tick over and rearly lumpy, EML is on. iv been to garage and had it on computer and it showed EGR fault but, im changing it at the weekend but the pipes for the EGR system and crank case breather seem all mixed up, some have been cut and re-joined ect and im not sure they are all acctualy going to the right places. if possible can some one get me a few pics clearly showing all the breather pipes from the head to (or as near to ) the EGR valve and also crank breather pipes.

ye its a start cheers mate, i should be able to figure that out,
i just played around with it and removed plug cover to expose top of head were plugs go. that pipe that connects from one side of the head to the other i.e. from one cam to the other, it was off so....... i put it back on as it shows in the 2nd pic and it made it worse and just cut the engine straight out. is this cos the EGR in knackered or is the breather system all wrong?

EGR = exhaust gas recirculation (sp)
When the engine is cold it stops the exhaust gases going straight out and threrefore reduces imissions.
If its jammed open which is most probably the case when the car is warm it will run like a bag of shit
Ive been there done that, mines now blanked off

The EGR valve doesnt have any pipes to it at all though? Have you checked all your vacuum hoses for an air leak?

gav i ment where on the engine in those pics is it? i know its around there somewere,
il check vacum hoses in a bit but i needed pics cos it looks to me like its piped up wrong

sorted it guys cheers, found it and got it off, it was covered in crap inside so left it to soak in some derv for couple of hours cleaned it up and put it back on
all good now
