Hi,
Ive got a 1.4 16v Corsa Sport and it tops out at 100mph.Ive fitted a new breather hose yesterday as it was blocked up and had a big hole in.I thought this might of cured it but it hasnt.
Anyone got any ideas why this is happening?

millage of the car?
mine used to top out at just under 120
when i had all the exhaust systlem fitted.
now it wont do more than 110 so dont worry
its a bloody tiny engine and it wasnt designed to run at them speeds.. be carefull as you will blow the oil pump gasket if you drive it hard...

Ive had mine pull all the way to the limiter which is about 128mph going off gear ratios and tyre size also said 128 on the satnav aswell.

so did mine, on a straight, both ways along the private track
had a powerbox and a few other bits too

Granted it took awile to get from about 120 on the satnav to the limiter but it did it

Its only done 48,500 miles.Is there something i need to clean or a new sensor or something?
Well i best be carefull from now on then because i do drive it quite hard.Thanks for that advice.
Ive herd these can do the limiter but mine is just a long way off.

same here mate mine tops out at about 105ish and nowhere near the limiter!  can any1 help plz?

give the car a bloody good service, plugs, filters, oil. Then have the old 13" rim's on the bugger and it should do fine, also take the car down motorway for about 20 mile, try keep it in 4th at 70mph, and that should clear the egr,

Yer its standard and its just had a full service around 400 miles ago.
My exhaust is pretty fucked but that wont make much diffrence will it?A old guy owned it before me so do you think its just a little tight?
I might try giving it a good run.

They should pull right to the limiter in 5th if you find a bit of road long enough.
Speedo would nearly be at 130 by then

I wish my just stops at roughly 5000prm and im only doing about 100mph.

Exhaust will make a big difference if its blowing nearer the engine.

No its just my backbox that is fucked really.I will get it sorted give it a few good runs and see what happens.

make sure your tyre pressure is right aswell.. found that to be a git with the GLS... my backbox has cracked so might get my mum to get the center and rear for the GLS declaired again... should be a little better

sounds like the exhaust is blocked to me! does it pull well in the other gears?

Yer it goes ok in other gears just not when you get to 95/100mph,its just sticks there.
I know i cant drive that fast anyhow but its just annoying me.

lol had my car out lastnight... well it wont go over 80 anymore..... so im a bit confused  think its time for compression check

all most 70k so not that meny. im personaly thinking its the daft drilled airbox its got and the cheap cat... ihave a 200cpi sport cat sat in the shed..... i think i need to get a new bottom half of the airbox and slap the zorst and cat back on it... that should make it better. as it does feel like something is holding it back
