right ive got a v reg 1.4 16v , and its got a melted piston , so i'm fitting a 1.6 16v but this was from an astra mk3 and it also runs the other type of inlet manifold so i believe it is a x16xel ? is it possible to strip it to a bare head and block and then place all of my 1.4 gear and loom on it and then run the equivient 1.6 16v ecu from the c16xe? cheers richard

why dont you just swap the upper/lower inlets over off the 1.4...as their the same as the ecotec 1.6 16vs, and then run the c16xe ecu/loom?
