My own fault really I raced my mates "remapped" vtr the other night (and beat him ) and the next morning I noticed a small wet patch under the car (it was raining the night before)
I checked my coolant (water) and noticed that there was only a small amount in there I topped it up to halfway and will check it on Monday I also checked the oil which is fine!
The symptoms are: I've noticed that my car is getting a bit hotter than it normally does (the temp gauge goes up more quickly than usual)
Me and my old man had a quick check inside the bay but didn't see anything obvious... any ideas as to what it is? I'm thinking I might have a slight crack in a hose or something
Any ideas / suggestions much appreciated

Could be a Hose or could be coming from the Head Gasket which is what happened to a Car that came into my Work the other Day (Golf 55 Reg 2.0 FSI)

Loss of power = no
Smoke = was blowing puffs of white smoke after I raced him and he said that was the piston rings or valve stem seals (there was oil dripping out of the exhaust )
I don't have a cylinder pressure tester - shall I go to a garage and get it tested ?
p.s how big a job is the head gasket?
Thanks again guys

Just phoned my mate, he asked me to check my coolant (I topped it up yesterday) and it hasn't really changed!? He said to keep checking it until it goes down then he'll book it in for a pressure test I'll keep you guys informed throughout next week

Have a look under your oil filler cap and see if there is emulsified oil/water
Usually a good indicator of a blown hg.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
