what is better, a panel filter or a cone filter?

cone filter will give you heat soak which is comon on vaux engine's.

so i'd just go for a panel filter they give you the same advantages. just de restrict your air box and you'll be fine

thanks but can you just conferm what you mean by heat soak. not all motor headed yet.lol.

heat soak is basicaly your car sucking in hot air.

cars dont like hot air all that much and will suffer performance wise with it.

need to keep the air cool, so in addition to the panel filter and de restricting your air box, i'd run a cold air feed (just a section of large diameter pipe (something light weight will do) to the bottom of your front bumper as it will be able to draw in cold air from there
