Following from my post in the forza 3 topic. There is all this hype about how good forza 3 will be or the new gran turismo but one thing racing games lack...which is 'road kill'. wandering animals or unfortunite people standing in the wrong place being hit by cars. You can just imagine doing a 30 lap endurance only to be on your final lap and some bambi jumps out in front and you crash and lose, surely that would be better than actually winning the race.
This would make racing games even more fun, tuning your skyline with a good setup and a nice paint job only to go out on some track to deer hunt.
What do you think?

Why do that when you can get GTA and run people over
Maybe they will do it sooner/later, but am suprised no-one has thought, well actually done it.

Its stupid TBH, imagine being in a hard race and you eventually get up to the front of the pack and the next thing a deer runs out you hit and your out of the race.
I'd be mega pissed off and the controller would be out the window

I just said people because there has been a few killed in rally stages but more to the point of animals.

what a crap idea. Would be so annoying...
The AI opponents would dodge the animals with ease too / never get a animal spawned infront of them.

no, the animals dont just appear, you will see them from a distance so yes the opponents can dodge but they can also hit. if its a rabbit or fox you can easily continue the race, just with blood over the windscreen if you are using the cockpit view.

Because the reality is, animals hitting a car is a rare event...
So if you have it as rare as real life, then it's a lot of coding / graphics / design / testing for something that's barely ever gonna happen in game (some players will never experience it at all)...
Secondly, it'll be fucking annoying... it won't add anything to the game in terms of fun - unless you like looking at animals / killing animals... Instead it'll annoy the fuck out of you, you're on the last lap of a 8 lap race, that's taken you 20 mins... you're ahead just about, but this is the first time out of 10 attempts you are the leader.... then just as you have nearly done it... boom you hit a deer. fucking annoying

anti-death-to-animals groups would be all over this if it actually came out on a racing game

coding? and thats a problem in this generation of computing because.....
it adds to the whole racing 'experience' they have going. to make it more realistic where it happens on a rare basis or not.

To code it isn't the issue...
It's the fact that a computer game is a product, that costs money to make. If they believe that adding animals is a fairly pointless feature / so rare it'll never happen in game, then why would they want to waste time (time is money) coding the animal shit in.

Bit of a crap idea. When I'm racing other cars the last thing I'm thinking about is wiping out a few spectators or hitting a random deer
If thats what you want to do, play GTA to run down countless civilians, or play FarCry 2 where you can run down people and wild animals.

Because its game they will over use it, it will happen every sort of 5 races you do otherwise there will be no point in including it in the game.

I remember the old TOCA game on PS1/2 where you can cheat and shoot the cars infront of you.
