As above really, when i take it out of gear the revs drop right down to 500 then it will go up and down to like 1000 as if its hunting for fuel and eventually cut out. it seems to do it more in the wet but it could be fine for a week then all of a sudden every time i come to a set of lights... dead.
any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Jake.

vacume hoses, egr valve, cts, lambda sensor all these can cause these problems

theres vacum pipes all over the place, it has had a 'flame' inlet fitted (not by me) by previous owner, will this be my problem?

air leak then mate
check all hoses for perrishing and damage, then check for leaks dound the throttle body and the base of the inlet manfold. as the flame manifolds tend to be a little flexy
