As above i done my service lately with magnatec oil 15w/40 treat her to some nice wynns also...

all levels perfect!!

wynss made the engine really quite sounds much better got to say good stuff

but since my oil change like 40-50miles ago.. from FREEZING cold starts i get a nasty tapping noise for only a "few seconds" only every other morning start up from frezzing cold only

hasnt done the car any damage at all

as soon as the oil gets round the engine thats it quite as a mouse again

any help before i drop the oil again because its never once done this before my oil change.... bit gutted to be honest

can not be the oil can it?? is it worth dropping it and getting the vauxhall ecotec 15w/40 semi oil?? i dont like the fact it does this now when it never ever used to

I use 10w40 and my x16xe some times taps, just oil being pumped to the tappets i guess.

my 14xe rattles first thing on a bloody cold day, for about 3 seconds then it goes away, 14 and 16xe engines run on 10w40 so it could just do with a oil change, i recomend doing one every 5k i tend to do mine at 3k but as i havent done it in almost 12k i am slacking a little

av put the 10w/40 GM oil in today (from vauxhall) it feels alot smoother + GM filter!

no taps from cold also

i will never use magnatec oil again its ....crap!!!

and the fact i put the wrong oil in

but all sorted now

its not the wrong oil but its not what GM use.

halfrauds little oil book states 15w 40 for corsas, and i used it just to top mines up until i bought some proper GM stuff. so you can use the 15w or 10w.

its was rubbish i would never use it again! made mine tap since dropping it out only after 40-50mile... put the GM in and feels 10/10

never tapped once
