Just changed the head on my gsi, it turns over fine by hand. Turn the key in the ignition and it just clicks once and doesnt turn over. Battery has been charged. Anything I can do?

starter motor mate, it sounds like its sticking

It was changed last week and was turning the car over fine. Anything I can do to loosen it up. Cheers for the help buddy.

Put the car in gear Dean and rock it back and forth, the starter might just be hitting the fly wheel wrong mate, wearth a try.

Take plugs out and try and spin it over Dean, if it still clicks its deffo starter.

The engine turns over by hand fine so Im pretty sure its just the starter. Will try the rocking it back and forth again in the morning. Had it in first earlier so will put it in 5th and try again

Got in it just now and tried and was working. Car started but wont hold the revs.

yea it will keep running as long as I keep the revs up with the throttle, any ideas?

Sounds like ICV is not working, you poz you pluged it in ?

That at the back of the throttle body aint it? Would having the pipes going to the fuel tank vent valve in the wrong place cause it to do this?

Im thinking vacuum because everything was fine befor the head went pop.
