yes. due to the saga of unlimited/oh its not, every uk network that offers data was told to make it fairer for every customer. the way to do this is to cap the people who abuse the data connections, and penalise them. doing this is a way of forcing people to limit their usage, therefore meaning other people can use data services fairly.
remember the london o2 data saga? due to smartphone users abusing the bandwith and using far too much data. the solution. bring in caps for data, that were approved by ofcom.
ofcom wanted a solution, the networks agreed on them, and ofcom approved them.

That's not what you said a couple of posts back, you've just basically repeated my post.
Ofcom wanted something done, they didn't force limits on customers.
You've also used this ofcom bollocks before somewhere.

ill rephrase so john is happy.
ofcom had complaints due to poor data services. the networks asked if they can impose restrictions to make it fairer. ofcom said yes.

So Ofcom didn't force limits then which is what you said on page 1?
All they done was accepted that the networks were now being truthful about the limits and there's not much else they can do.

OK so unlimited data is no longer available but most tarrifs include 500mb. So now I can bin off my unlimited data bolt on (£7.50/month) and still have data?

Perhaps it will stop their network being so gay. Maybe they can fix the old switching between 3G and GPRS dropping calls issue then.

Agreed if its not that bad why put a limit. Also if they think the limit is fair do tmob offer 3gb data limit. Glad I signed up to o2 just before they changed the t&c's from my understanding I should be ok at least until upgrade time
