Just ordered this. £15 a month for 5GB of data on a rolling contract so I can cancel anytime.
It's mainly for my commute and I'm concerned the signal on the train will be rubbish which is why I opted for the rolling contract.
Anyone got this?

Your signal will be just as good as your Orange mobile phone signal, basically.

My mobile is on O2 
And why would it be the same as Orange? Do 3 use Orange's network?

Why not just get a decent phone so you can connect it to your laptop and go online that way.

Does a dongle not use the same signal? Granted it's a different network. Change network then, just sounds like a waste of money. 'EasyTether', best app on my phone.

You'd rinse 500mb using a mobile as a modem as you'll be on proper websites, not mobile websites.
But a dongle won't get much signal than a phone. Our salesman out on the road log in remotely OK on their Vodafone dongles but they only user the database etc. The trouble is with a train is that it moves and if you're going a long enough distance it'll be swapping aerial masts etc.

Yep, got the exact same plan. Only use it in fixed locations (ie. Home, work occasionally, staying at hotels for business etc.). I think it's pretty fucking smart tbh.
Always connects, never drops connection. I got a little 'Mifi' wireless router so I don't have a stupid dongle plugged into the PC all the while.
It's no comparison to the speed of a fixed line, but for general browsing it's perfectly quick. It's with YouTube that you notice the slowness in downloading.

my 3 mobile broadband hasn't been bad, i've been with them for about 2 years now, just cancelled my contract as I hardly use it. signal hasn't been bad at all, it was crap when I first got it but much improved over the last year.
