I asked almost this exact question yesterday however my fourth option was the Sony X10
I'm probably going to go for the HD7, but as your said they all have strengths and weaknesses so its down to personal choice i think.

Is the Iphone 4 that much different to your 3gs that you wont get bored of it very quickly? I rekon it wouldnt really seem like getting a new phone.

The above is precisely why I don't want to ditch my 3GS for a 4. I'm considering the HD7, Omnia 7, and the Desire HD. Favouring the Desire HD at present but the battery life worries me!

Not had my Desire HD for long enough to notice the true battery life but if it's anything like my Desire I'll be happy with 24/36 hours before a charge is needed.

I have the HD7 moved from iPhone
Reason being I have iPad so iPhone bored me and wanted a change
Had it since launch and already app store is getting better
It's very different to iphone in some ways but in others it's the same so using it is easy if your used to iPhone
Give it time and I think it will be brill and at the end of the day it's almost half the price of iPhone so why not!

I have a 3G3, dont get me wrong i do love the screen and the look of the iPhone 4, however i dont like the feel of it in your hand.
And the features do not warrant me and upgrade.
But theres so much talk of Apple bringing out a new version to try and combat some issues, I am going to hold off till mid next year before doing anything as I think they will have something in th epipeline by then.

Go for either of the HTC then you know you're safe.

If you like Symbian and actually being able to do things like change settings and what not with ease, I'd recommend the N8.
However even going from a 3GS iPhone I can see how you'd be irritated by an N8. I had a quick play with the iPhone 4 yesterday and it was much more responsive.
But certainly not worth the extra ~£200 you have to put down for a similar tariff.
N8 is a bargain considering you can get it on most tariffs/operators for free.
