C20XE Nova
Car runs sweet as a nut, turn it off, put multimeter across and it drains. Found its the live on the nova loom for all the electrics.
Pulled fuses out 1 by 1, still doing it.
Next suggestions?

Once a battery has gone flat, they tend to be fucked. Time for a new one.

So if you charge it up/have the car running, disconnect the battery, does it still lose charge or not?
If not, id pull the ecu off it too.

Start the car then disconnect the battery? See if it still runs? If it doesn't its the alt?

Ah, no it doesn't. Battery holds charge. It's 100% the red power lead that goes into the Nova loom that powers the lights, dash, fuse box etc. But i've pulled every fuse out 1 by 1 and still nothing.

Sod that, a new battery comes with a warrenty.
You've got something wired in wrong, check around all the live wires for something that looks out of place.

Pull negative lead off the battery connect an ammeter (one terminal on the battery negative and one on the negative lead) called a current draw test. (this is with the ignition off by the way!) if you get a reading more than 0.3 amps then you need to start disconnecting things till the current drops (ie stereo etc)

If pulling the fuses out makes no difference it must be something before the fuse box? Have you followed the loom for any shorts?

Or just put a switch on the battery Live wire. Just remember to switch it off.
Will solve your problem for now

Does it still drain if you unplug the ECU?

Not tried that. Will have a go tomorrow.
If it does, what do you reckon?

My bet will be on the relay sticking and draining it or the ecu itself. Seen it happen twice just from moisture running down the loom and shorting it out.
