on the way to work this morning, the following happened :
when i switched the full beam lights on the car backfired and the radio switched off.
also when the indicators are flashing i could hear the engine speeding up and down.
and also the wipers are very slow in all speed ranges.
could this be an earth problem???

could be many things including:
A fucked or dying battery
A fucked or dying alternator
A bad earth somewhere (possibly between the engine and the body)

I'm having similar problems, if I turn on my heated rear screen the car cuts out, and makes an electrical buzzing noise behind the dash!

Got my idling at 4k sorted too , down to 900 now.
However the cause is that my inlet manifold is cracked , can these be welded ?
