If I bought an iPhone direct from Apple, will it only work with one particular network or is it unlocked?

Interesting. I was looking at PAYG prices and I noticed the iPhone was £1 dearer than O2 PAYG... So if I went down that route it would make more sense to buy it direct from Apple then!

I just read somewhere online that once an iPhone (bought from Apple) is activated then it gets locked to whatever network it is using.

Is this correct?

No, iphones from apple are unlocked.
