What's the best way to clean up my xe block and gearbox (without a pressure washer) so that I can paint it up before it goes in a corsa

GUNK degreaser is very good and get some brake cleaner along with a wire brush.

a wire brush bit that fits into a drill also saves you some time

Gunk for the large areas, wd 40 for the smaller bits and pieces
