Well, I'm currently on PAYG phone though Orange (and ancient Nokia) that currently does averything I need, however, I feel it's time for me to join the 21st century and look into getting a smart phone. I like the idea of being able to do loads of stuff through apps and signing into wifi for home use.
I went into an Orange store recently to see what smart phone were about and quite honestly, I didn't realise quite how many there are to chose from. I'd like to stick with Orange if possible, so I can keep my old number, but I just wondered what phones/contracts people use to get a better idea of what I could/should get.
Useage-wise, I'd like the following:
-"magic numbers"
-300 texts +/-
-reasonable amount of talk minutes
-as much internet as possible
if people could reply with the following details of what they get, that would be great:
-network e.g. Orange
-phone e.g. Iphone 4
-minutes e.g. 500
-texts e.g. 300
-internet e.g. unlimited
-monthly cost e.g. £40

To put in comparison, i have a HTC Mozart, that i got a few months ago on Orange.
It is £30 pm for:
600 mins
Unlimited texts
750mb internet + btopenzone unlimited.
Magic numbers - on contract i think you can only have 1 number? Never used it but i think thats the case?
Not too sure on what phones are good at the moment though.

Thanks mate. Obviously it depends what sites you use etc, but how far does 750MB actually go in terms of minutes of internet? I would only really use it for a couple of car sites, check emails, Ebay etc then connect it to my home wifi when I'm home from work. Also, if you have one magic number on contract, how much does that work, as on Orange PAYG, you can talk for an hour for 20p a go, which is great.

You'll never use 750MB on orange, it rarely works tbh I only really go on facebook etc when I'm out and about and I hardly use any data, the rest of the time my blackberry connects to the wifi at home.
I think my contract is
£35
700mins
Unlimited texts
Not sure how much data but it's a blackberry plan?

Hard for me to say really, i have gone over my MB alot! I actually pay an extra £5 pm for another 500mb, but that is because i work nights and just sit on the internet on my phone all night.
Casual browsing of facebook etc should be ok.
Regards to magic numbers, i think you get 1 number and when you ring it, it doesnt use up your minutes. Thats how i understood it anyway. could be wrong though.
