Due to a construction fuck up in the area I've just moved to, Virgin can't give us fibre optic broadband (to which they are suing the construction company ), so who else is good? BT were reliable in my old house but connection speeds weren't great

O2 used to be good when they had their legacy packages. Now the new ones all traffic shape so I would stay away if it was me.

I'm with O2 now and it seems to be ok.
My wireless connection drops sometimes, but I don't know whether thats due to the router, the connection itself, or my MacBook.

Was the same when I was on O2. Wireless don't seem to be that great with them.

O2 were good until they started traffic shaping (although I think pretty much everyone these days do this now).
O2 routers are shit, using your own one is better as long as you don't go for a shit one.
Sky seems good so far, we're on the unlimited package.

I'm literally calling O2 now to cancel.
Were with Sky for TV so might look into BB aswel and go with Primus for the phone (£6.80pm line rental)

I'm with plusnet too. Best priced deal when I took it out, still really competitive. Do have traffic shaping, but I've only ever noticed it at peak times and for short periods - Virgin were worse back at my old place.
