My 6 year old PC has finally died. I've just upgraded XP to WIN8 so I guess I could just download the ISO and use the licence key and it should install fine?

I also have a graphics card that's only a year old and works well.

Mainly be used for Photoshop/video editing and watching movies.

Could similar be had for cheaper?

For a little bit less, and 1tb less HDD, but with Windows 8, you can get this for £330. http://www.ebuyer.com/395296-zoostorm-desktop-pc-7873-0434

I wouldn't go lower than i5 for what you want, i have the same spec as nathy posted in work for photoshop / dreamweaver and it can lag and be slow at times.

Nathy - He already has Windows, so could just dl from microsoft, iso and use his serial like stated.

The extra £20 seems pretty well spent on the top one. Processor upgrade and 100% more storage compared to the second.

What about this:

Is the i5 really worth the extra £80?

The extra TB doesn't really matter.

I'd say so yes. It's so noticeable, I suppose if I didn't have both, then I wouldn't be fussed. Your last pc lasted 6 years, may as well get the i5 in knowing you'll be hoping for it to achieve the same life?

4 screws and detach the molex or MB connector. Find a suitable replacement size on ebay, ebuyer, amazon.

Sometimes under the (ASUS or brand) sticker or on the the other side, is is a hole that you can apply some light oil to the bearings. Modern CPU fans though don't generally require oiling and it's pob best to buy a new one.

Are you sure when you put the side back on there isnt a stray wire catching on the fan blades as I have had this before

Although tbh it looks pretty tidy in there compared to the builds Ive done in the past
