Hello,

Basically the software (VCDS 11.11) works perfectly on Win7, when on windows 8 as soon as you pull the cable out, software dies and you're unable to load it again.

Known fault? Easy fix? Can't find much online.

Appreciate any help

Doubt it's genuine if he is using an old version

My only suggestion would be to run it in comparability more. If that fails create a Windows 7 vm and run it on there

1.15 Will VCDS work on Windows 8?
Yes, all current versions of VCDS and VCDS-Lite are fully compatible with Windows 8. If you're using an old version that isn't, please update.

Again if its not genuine, he wont be able to update. If its genuine you are also entitled to phone support/updates like me

Yes, it was bought from Ross-Tech directly.

Should just be able to download the latest one from the website if it's genuine.

Looks like 11.11 is recent though, 11.11.6 is the latest, which would suggest that any version of 11.11 is pretty recent.
