Hi, im new to the site, i have recently bought a corsa 1.0 with around 58,000 miles, it appears to be in quite good condition other than a couple of dents and a few deep scratches, but when i get onto a dual carridgeway and accelerate the eml light tends to come on and when you press the accelerator it feels like the car is running out of feul? After about a minute the car sorts itself out and goes back to normal but im quite worried as to what this might be? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks

Sounds like it could be MAF or EGR to me.

I had same problem, Usually the MAF sensor on the 1.0 engines.

Paperclip tests doesn't work on these 1.0

maf sensor is one plug and two jubilee clips/gm clamps.

What actually is the maf sensor and where is it located please? I have noticed that the airbox only has the metal clips on one side, so on the other side it is not tightly shut, could this be my problem?

MAF same as AFM? Reckon it is that. Or blocked breather pipes.

So if this is disconnected will the car run ok or will it constantly be in limp mode? And will it cause any additional wear on the engine?

It sounds like you have a problem with maybe the turbo speak to a specialist about it and it might need to be reconditioned or even a new one, or it might be one of the injectors.
