cant u have the solenoid connected to the old rear wiper wiring? and austin i dont really get how a boot soleonoid fully works because it is pops open the boot will it still be caught on the boot catch?, i mean when u open the boot with the button u have to hole the button down till u fully open the tailgate.

um, no, the solenoid pulls the catch open releasing the lock, the lock doesnt go back into place until the boot is shut. It works fine for me i have it all installed. How on earth are u sposed to hold a button inside the car and go open the tailgate? divvy

what i ment was how does it work because when u open ur boot u need to keep the button held down until the boot lock is clear of the catch because if the boots just poped open is it still caught on the boot catch 'divvy'

no look, i have got it installed, and i know how it works. You press the button, the catch is fully pulled downwards, solenoids only operate one way. This fully clears the catch, and will allow you to pull up the boot. The reason why you have to hold the cylinder in with ur thumb if u were manually opening the car is because it would bring the catch back if u released it, but this isnt the case with the solenoid, so shurrup, divvy
