Anyone on it? Am I reading this right; you pay £20 for the Sim card, then it's £0 a month, forever, for 250 minutes, 300 texts and 500MB of data?

Seems too good to be true?

Yup - I used it with my 3G dongle.

Only paid £10 for my sim at the time.

Works fine when using an iPad - have no problems with any apps using the internet. When i do need to use the browser there are a few ads but its thing major

Use it here, few minor niggles but no real issues to speak off. And yes it's as you say - spend £20, £15 gets put on as credit (for when you go out of your allowance) and you get 250 mins/300 texts/500MB data every month for nadda.

And its paid for by advertising?

Was talking to someone who just said leave your computer on at home and remote desktop to it - browser on the home connection won't show ads.

Can't help but think there's a way of doing it on the local machine without needing to be permanently in a remote session.

If you had a dongle in one machine and had that share the connection around your LAN, would you still see them?

You're sent to a advert landing page that has a 5 second timer when using mobile data - no idea if this differs when using a dongle but I wouldn't have thought so.

VPN is disabled however; not sure about RDS.

How intrusive is the advertising? I would struggle to exceed 500mb a month for my usage (£10 on 3's 123 PAYG tarriff lasts me 2 months ) and only use the browser for limited viewing because most things have apps now...

From what i've noticed you either get the advert landing page a handful of times in a row after clicking links (which is a bit of a PITA as you have to wait 5 second before pressing the 'continue' button) or you don't get it all during the browsing session.

But tbf it's a minor niggle considering it's free

Well i managed to get just over 3 months usage, which is reasonable but i think it's horrendous that no notice was given (thanks John for posting, wouldn't have known otherwise ).

Could be worse, there's loads of comments on twitter of people receiving sim-cards today or buying them today and not being able to use them

I was completely coincidentally googling to find out if people were using them in GPS trackers, even though it wasn't allowed and came across it.

You will have 45 days to lodge a claim through PayPal and anyone that paid via credit card try and lodge a 'chargeback'.
